Your First Visit: What to Expect

Your First Visit: What to Expect

What’s keeping you from going to see a Chiropractor? For many people, it can be that they simply don’t know what to expect. We understand it can be difficult trying something new, such as visiting a new doctor, which is why we want to ease your mind before you step foot into our office.

Before scheduling an initial exam with a chiropractor, we recommend doing your research. You can do this by asking friends or family for suggestions, reading reviews online, or calling an office for more information. Here at the Project Wellness Company, we are a family owned practice that is truly committed to making you feel at home.

When you make the decision to come meet with us, we want you to be fully informed and prepared. Prior to your first appointment you will complete our New Patient Intake forms, which will allow us to review your full health history and any current issues that may have brought you to our office. We like to get to know you the best we can, which is why your first appointment will take between 45-60 minutes. During your initial visit, we will do a thorough exam including x-rays and a functional movement screening. We will also discuss your full medical history and the health goals that you would like to achieve. This appointment not only gives us a chance to get to know you and see how we can help, but more importantly, it allows you to get know us and trust us with your health!

After we complete the full exam, we will schedule a second appointment to discuss our findings and recommendations. During this visit, we will review your x-rays and go over what we have found. Once we know what is going on structurally with your body, we are then able to make recommendations regarding your care.  At this point, we will tell you what we can (or cannot) help with, and how we intend to do so. Based upon our findings from your exam, we may recommend a wellness plan for you, which is intended to help you maintain your current health. If any findings raise concern, we will recommend corrective care, which consists of more frequent visits to get your body back functioning as quickly as possible. Your second visit is also when you will receive your first adjustment! (We do not adjust patients prior to doing a complete exam in order to ensure we know everything that is going on.)

We are a whole-body wellness facility so, we may recommend additional types of care to help address any current issues you may be dealing with. These other types of care may include functional fitness training, massage therapy, supplementation, or nutritional counseling. Our goal is to help you feel better for the long term, as well as become your “go-to” for any health questions and concerns.

If you have any aches or pains that you have been ignoring or you’re just curious as to what we can do to help you live a healthy life, contact us today to setup your initial new patient appointment. We look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your health & wellness goals.

Yours in health,

Dr. Kyle Nye & the Team at Project Wellness Company
